As the Financial Controller, you will provide an effective and proactive accounting service to all UK group companies. Working closely with the Finance director Head of FP&A to provide robust financial information in a timely fashion. In this important role, you’ll oversee a team consisting of Qualified Accountants through to administrative employees covering all aspects of transactions and accounting except revenue. Working closely with the revenue accountant to ensure revenue recognition and reconciliation is complete and compliant. The role will have responsibility for maintaining and developing an effective control environment. You will have responsibility for statutory and tax compliance for the UK entities The role will also encompass significant responsibility for the ongoing system and process integration of acquired entities.

What you'll be doing...

  • Provide full month end and year end TB’s and support reporting with commentary
  • Lead and develop your finance team, taking ownership of day-to-day operations
  • Develop existing policies and procedures including internal controls to facilitate growth of company and to streamline processes to create efficiencies and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Manage the year end audit process
  • To be responsible for tax compliance including VAT, corporation tax, EC statistics and payroll related taxes.
  • To oversee the accounts payable process and manage treasury operations
  • Oversee and maintain short term and long term cashflow forecasts
  • Contribute to regular budget and forecasting exercises
  • To take full ownership of the relevant balance sheet account reconciliation process
  • Other tasks as required to support the UK Finance Director

What we need from you...

  • Post qualification experience encompassing all aspects of the role with a proven track record of success
  • Excellent knowledge and hands on experience of financial practices, GAAP, taxation, cost management
  • Professionalism and integrity with impact and presence
  • Ability to be flexible, and adapt to a fast paced and changing environment
  • Good standard of verbal and written communication with the ability to explain complex financial information at all levels of the business
  • Demonstrates leadership capability and the ability to influence others
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or other related subject
  • Formal accountancy qualification (eg CIMA, ACCA, ACA) and evidence of continuing professional education post qualification
